Scientist I – Polymer/Monomer Lab
Kelly Outsourcing Consulting Group Kelly OCG, a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking ana Scientist I – Polymer/Monomer Lab for a long-term engagement at one of our Global medical device clients in Cornelia, GA.
Location: Cornelia, GA
- Potential occastional travel to sister sites in Athens, Flowery Branch, and Baldwin GA
- Potential for minimal overtime
Summary:
The Scientist I will report directly to the Monomer/Polymer Lab Lead for daily tasks and/or the Kelly Sett Operations Manager for overall management and be responsible for routine testing in compliance with laboratory test methods and procedures to support the Manufacturing and timely delivery of product to customers.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of testing materials
- Performing and monitoring routine independent testing using laboratory instruments such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, viscosity meters, KF volumetric titrators, and similar equipment.
- Recognizing problems during the analysis and documenting those observations
- Properly document test results and maintain accurate test records
- Initiating investigations for non-conforming materials, documentation, and laboratory test results.
- Performing daily calibration/verification checks on laboratory instruments.
- Making and recording observations and calculations.
- Collecting and preparing data for evaluation.
- Archiving documentation on testing that has been completed.
- Performing other related duties as assigned by management.
- Maintaining clean work area.
- Supporting laboratory housekeeping, environmental and safety initiatives.
- Work in team environment behaving in a CREDO based respectful manner.
- Comply with all federally regulated programs.
- Adhere to J&J environmental and safety policies and guidelines.
- Comply with all job specific safety procedures and utilize correct PPE when necessary.
- Comply with quality system requirements as defined within procedures and instructions.
- Use test equipment (Starett Gauge, Mitutoyo Gauge, Microscope, etc) where applicable.
- Utilize applicable software systems as needed for the job (e.g. ComplianceWire, ADAPTIV, SAP, LIMS, Maximo, etc.)
- Consistently meet required work performance targets (RE's), if applicable.
- Support LEAN and Six Sigma Initiatives.
- Support Maintenance Excellence (ME2) including 6S and Operator Asset Care.
- Accurately complete records as defined within the job procedures (e.g. manual and/or electronic documentation).
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Consistently meet required Training due date targets.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree, or Equivalent is required
- Greater than 2 years of experience in a GMP laboratory environment performing progressively advanced duties at the Technician 2 Level.
- Training in GMP and ISO requirements
