We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Facilities Engineer to support operations across office and production facilities. This individual will collaborate with Facilities Operations and Maintenance teams to optimize equipment reliability, improve efficiency, and support continuous improvement projects in a high-tech, fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the commissioning, optimization, and troubleshooting of utility mechanical systems, including chillers, gas generators, compressors, and HVAC systems.
  • Develop and refine preventive maintenance (PM) programs to increase uptime and equipment life.
  • Apply root cause analysis and other problem-solving methodologies to drive reliability improvements.
  • Partner with production and maintenance teams to plan and execute work with minimal impact to business operations.
  • Manage small to mid-sized internal projects (typically $1M–$5M), including scope definition, vendor coordination, and progress tracking.
  • Ensure operational readiness of new and existing mechanical infrastructure in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Support KPIs related to capacity, availability, and energy efficiency; identify and implement improvement projects.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance technicians, including procedure development and documentation.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 10+ years of facilities engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Proven expertise in mechanical utilities systems operations, including HVAC, chillers, compressors, gas generators, and facility piping systems.
  • Direct experience with equipment commissioning and developing preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Strong understanding of industrial facility operations (not construction-focused roles).
  • Experience leading tenant improvement or facilities expansion projects in the $1M–$5M range.
  • Familiarity with electrical and control systems for utility integration.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across maintenance, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Hands-on, adaptable, and effective in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

Preferred Industry Backgrounds (not required, but ideal):
Candidates with experience in the following industries often transition well into this role:
  • Semiconductor
  • Battery manufacturing
  • Data centers
  • Chemical processing
  • Pharmaceutical production
  • Other technical manufacturing environments with high uptime requirements
