JOB TITLE: Senior Manufacturing DevOps Engineer

LOCATION: Hawthorne, NY (on-site)

TYPE: Full time, regular

COMPENSATION: $129,000 - $160,000/yr

Role Summary:

The Senior Manufacturing DevOps Engineer will be working alongside our existing electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and software engineers on medical device development. This role is multi-disciplinary with responsibility for documentation and testing of the device's subsystems and overall integrated system. We are looking for a team player who views medical device development as a competitive advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated solutions for streamlining software deployment in manufacturing operations
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, collaborating with cross-functional project teams
  • Develop automated scripts and software for efficient installation, testing, and configuration of systems and hardware-specific tools
  • Integrate automated testing with CI/CD pipelines, working closely with Software Quality Engineering
  • Implement infrastructure code to automate deployment and configuration, in collaboration with IT and Cloud Architecture teams
  • Establish and maintain monitoring and observability tools to improve operational efficiency
  • Develop and execute automated testing procedures to ensure overall machine functionality prior to release
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for software maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Manage software licenses, computer images, backups, and version control for manufactured products
  • Identify and implement process efficiencies by reviewing procedures and evaluating tools
  • Support project developers with development environment issues and access management
  • Integrate required third-party hardware/software, such as sensors, drivers, and libraries
  • Take ownership of the software bring-up process during manufacturing, from design to maintenance
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in DevOps practices to enhance efficiency and reduce risk

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, with a proven track record of developing and maintaining automation scripts for build processes, deployment pipelines, production environment.
  • Experience with Linux systems, command-line interfaces, and software deployment tools
  • Experience and knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitCI
  • Experience with monitoring stacks like ELK, Grafana/ Prometheus, or DynaTrace
  • Knowledge of software testing, documentation, and version control practices
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and workflows
  • Experience with creating and maintaining technical documentation and guides
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Flexibility to adapt to a changing and fast-paced environment
  • Drive, determination, and ability to achieve aggressive milestones and deadlines
  • Experience with software deployment in a manufacturing setting is a plus
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (ex: Docker) and software deployment platforms is a plus
