Job Title: Service Officer

Job Details
The Service Officer provides back-office operational support within the Wealth National Office, focusing on corporate action processing and operational controls. The role supports day-to-day processing activities, ensuring accuracy, adherence to SLAs, and effective handling of corporate action events within strict deadlines. This position offers exposure to capital markets operations and opportunities for career growth within a major financial institution.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Processing

  • Monitor and review corporate action notifications from vendors such as DTC, CDS, TSE, and Bloomberg
  • Identify impacted positions and validate information using secondary sources
  • Track timelines and follow up with depositories when required
  • Create corporate action files and maintain operational logs and databases
  • Update reconciliation systems and ensure statuses remain current
Analysis & Coordination
  • Perform detailed analysis of circulars and notifications within tight deadlines
  • Determine event eligibility and restrictions for Canadian shareholders
  • Identify documentation requirements and submission deadlines
  • Coordinate translation requirements when needed
  • Escalate complex or risk-related issues to senior staff
  • Identify foreign exchange exposure risks on corporate action events
Risk & Compliance Support
  • Ensure processing aligns with operational risk controls and SLAs
  • Escalate issues or discrepancies appropriately
  • Support accurate tracking and reporting across processing activities

Must-Have Skills
  • Experience in financial operations processing or accounting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet SLAs and manage competing priorities under deadlines
