ITSM - IT Service Management Consultant

Position Summary 

We are seeking a Service Transition Contractor to support the smooth and controlled introduction of new or changed IT services into production. This role ensures operational readiness, minimizes risks, and enforces best practices for service transition. The contractor will collaborate with project teams, service owners, and operations to maintain business stability during transitions. 

Key Responsibilities 

Service Transition & Business Readiness 

  • Lead and coordinate service transition activities for new or modified IT services. 

  • Ensure that services meet operational and business requirements before deployment. 

  • Develop and execute transition plans, including documentation, training, and stakeholder communication. 

  • Conduct go-live readiness assessments and ensure risk mitigation strategies are in place. 

Change & Release Coordination 

  • Work closely with Change and Release Management to align transition activities with deployment schedules. 

  • Assess the impact of changes on existing services and ensure seamless integration into production. 

  • Support teams in adhering to ITIL best practices for Change and Release Management. 

Process Governance & Continuous Improvement 

  • Ensure compliance with ITIL frameworks for Service Transition. 

  • Identify and implement improvements in transition processes and documentation. 

  • Support automation initiatives to enhance service transition efficiency.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Act as the primary contact for service transition-related activities. 

  • Engage with development, operations, and business teams to ensure smooth adoption of new services. 

  • Communicate transition plans, risks, and updates to stakeholders. 

Key Qualifications 

  • Proven experience in Service Transition, IT Service Management (ITSM), or Change & Release Management. 

  • Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks, particularly ITIL Service Transition. 3+ years' experience  

  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools. 

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. 

  • Ability to manage multiple transitions in a fast-paced environment. 

  • 5+ years IT service operations experience is an added advantage, providing valuable insight into the end-to-end service lifecycle.
