Staff Accountant

Position Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Fenton, MO
Salary Rate: $55,000 - $62,000 
Shift: Monday-Friday (Flexible start time 7/8am)

General Summary The Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in supporting the mission to Share Christ and Love People by ensuring the timely completion of financial activities, including bank reconciliations and journal entries for month-end and year-end reporting. This position involves decision-making in ledger coding and classification and requires the collection of proper information to execute journal entries effectively. Essential Responsibilities
  • Journal Entries and Reconciliations (60%): Prepare and record journal entries in Microsoft Navision, ensuring appropriate detail and backup. Perform bank reconciliations two accounts for two companies.
  • Reporting and Analysis (10%): Produce and analyze a variety of financial reports, including Trial Balance, Financial Statements, Flux Analysis, and other ad-hoc reports as needed.
  • Assist Management (10%): Support preparation for audits, procedure writing, and complete special projects, including mileage booklets.
  • Fixed Asset Management (10%): Manage activities relating to fixed assets, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and year-end inventory tracking.
  • Communication and Support (5%): Provide updates to the Assistant Controller and assist the Finance Department with general ledger account coding.
  • Professional Development (5%): Stay informed of current U.S. accounting standards and practices.
Qualifications
  • Formal Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of related experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experienced with Microsoft Navision or similar ERP accounting software.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, problem-solving skills, precise attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure. High level of interpersonal skills for handling sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Attributes: Self-motivated, capable of working at all organizational levels.
