Kelly is seeking a Tax Manager to work with our client, a new start-up venture that has partnered with a successful organization in the business development/personal growth space, on a direct hire basis. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of tax-free strategies, particularly in the context of investments and entrepreneurial ventures.
The Tax Manager will:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the tax department
- Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals and businesses
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes
- Identify and mitigate tax risks for clients, communicating clear tax strategies
- Coordinate tax accounting staff and assess their performance
- Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices
- Manage and coordinate tax audits, providing expertise for the process
- Prepare all tax papers and handle all information data requests
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Provide support with various internal audits and special tax-related projects
- Manage tax team members, ensuring proper training and information is available
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a tax manager or public accountant role
- Understanding of tax-free strategies, particularly in the context of investments and entrepreneurial ventures, preferred
- Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations
- Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements
- Experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements
- Strong leadership and personnel management skills
- Analytical skills with detail orientation
- Strong written and oral communication skills
