Position Title: Test & Evaluation Technician
1st Shift: 7AM-3:30PM
Note: Shift times may vary depending on production schedules
Hourly Compensation: $28 - $32 per hour, depending on experience

Position Overview:
As a Test & Evaluation Technician at Johnson & Johnson, you will be responsible for performing various product evaluation and testing activities to ensure the quality and conformity of cutting-edge healthcare and medical devices. You will utilize a variety of testing equipment, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, and collaborate with engineers to enhance product design and improve testing methods. Your role will directly contribute to the continued innovation and success of products that impact the healthcare industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Evaluation and Testing: Perform standard tests and contribute to the development of new test methods to evaluate product performance. This involves using various testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, micrometers, flow meters) to assess the quality and conformity of products to engineering specifications.
- Prototyping and Equipment Design: Assist in designing and possibly building test equipment or prototypes, based on sketches, drawings, or verbal instructions.
- Calibration and Equipment Maintenance: Support the calibration and maintenance of specialized lab equipment, ensuring precise measurements and consistent test results throughout the testing process.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and maintain electrical and mechanical systems or equipment, collaborating with engineers to diagnose complex issues, analyze failures, and recommend improvements to prevent recurring failures.
- Documentation and Data Review: Ensure all evaluations are properly documented, summarize the data for engineering review, and propose improvements to testing methods.
- Collaboration: Work with engineering, production, and other lab technicians to identify root causes of failures, contribute to technical reports, and suggest improvements to product design and testing methods.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, conducting safety training and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
- High school diploma or GED and 2-5 years of related experience.
- Proficient with test and measurement equipment, including multimeters, micrometers, flow meters, pressure gauges, tensile testers, and torque testers.
- Proficient in basic PC software and the ability to work with engineering specifications and blueprints.
- Must be able to follow company safety standards and complete necessary training courses.
