Job Title: Journeyman Toolmaker
Location: Attleboro Falls, MA

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7am to 3:45pm
Pay Rate: $35.00+

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Journeyman Toolmaker to join our advanced manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have completed a formal 5-year apprenticeship and bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in precision toolmaking. This role involves the fabrication, repair, and maintenance of high-precision tools and fixtures used in various manufacturing processes. You will work with both conventional and advanced machining equipment to produce parts to tight tolerances and support high-performance operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate, repair, and maintain high-precision tooling including blanking, trimming, and piercing tools

  • Build and service jigs and fixtures for diverse manufacturing equipment

  • Select appropriate materials and machining processes based on application requirements

  • Operate standard toolroom machinery such as milling machines, engine lathes, and surface grinders

  • Read and interpret complex blueprints and machine parts to tolerances of ±.002”

  • Perform heat treatment of tool steels and conduct Rockwell hardness testing

  • Set up and operate power presses, hydraulic presses, and drop hammers

  • Work with advanced machining technologies, including:

    • RAM EDM

    • WIRE EDM

    • 3-Axis CNC Router

  • Effectively multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, evolving environment

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with team members and departments

  • Maintain tool room cleanliness and ensure safe use of all equipment

  • Demonstrate self-motivation and initiative in troubleshooting and repairs with minimal supervision

Required Skills & Knowledge
  • Comprehensive understanding of metallurgy, tool steels, and machining processes

  • Proficient in safe and accurate power press setup and operation

  • Strong blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) interpretation skills

  • Advanced mechanical problem-solving and diagnostic abilities

Software Experience (Preferred)
  • SolidWorks

  • Fusion 360

  • Carveco

  • Adobe Photoshop
