The Co-op position serves as a development opportunity at our Jacksonville, Florida location with HR team with a focus in benefits. The co-op rotation will run from March 17, 2025 to May 19, 2025.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure employee benefit records are updated and maintained accurately, supporting compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Assist in developing and distributing benefit-related communications, including newsletters and reminders. Maintain the benefits intranet site, ensuring all information is current and accessible to employees.
- Perform testing for any system changes related to employee benefits, ensuring all updates function as expected before implementation.
- Manage daily benefit processing, including:
- Enrollments, COBRA administration, terminations, changes, evidence of insurability, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs, and Medicare forms.
- Oversee the dependent verification process to ensure compliance with benefit plan guidelines and requirements.
- Compile, submit, and review monthly benefit invoices. Process self-bill transactions in benefits administration system and work with the accounting team to ensure accurate payment processing.
- Ensure 401(k) records are maintained accurately, including correcting import errors with the 401(k) administrator and conducting a monthly deferral audit.
- Prepare and send monthly files for service anniversary awards, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Keen focus on personal and physical safety.
- Committed to completing the rotational program.
- Able to work off hours if needed/necessary.
- Must have basic proficiency using Microsoft Office applications to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook E-mail, and Project.
- Must be willing to work with others and have a positive attitude in a manufacturing or office setting.
- Possess a basic understanding and knowledge of academic discipline.
- Learn, apply knowledge, and skills to the performance of [Insert Division].
- Able to research and integrate new ideas into the business.
- Display effective business communication skills, (oral, written, instructional, and presentation) as well as the ability to work on cross-functional and/or geographically dispersed teams.
- Must demonstrate personal initiative to complete work without missing deadlines and communicate and follow-up on the status of projects and other work assignments in a timely manner.
- Able to organize and prioritize project and work tasks. Project Management skills or classwork preferred but not required.
- Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate (sophomore, junior, senior) student pursuing a bachelor's degree in academic discipline or related field of study.
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA.
