Position Summary: This position is responsible for the safe operation of the finishers, heat exchangers and decanters.
Responsibilities:
- Proper operation of the Decanters and related processes both on the delivery side of this equipment as well as the waste removal process.
- Correct Paperwork & gallons
- Operate in Hot Set Pasteurizing Temperatures
- Centrifuge feed chamber cleaning procedure
- Add Correct enzyme dose for pectin & Starch- Document lot numbers.
- Change Bertocchi Turbo Extractor Screen.
- Operate CIP System on mash tanks 1,2,3- Bertocchi Finisher – The Double Tubes Heat Exchanger- Centrisys Decanter – Product line from the decanter balance tank to Processing tanks # 7 & 8
- Perform critical valve manipulation to send product to correct tanks.
- Move pumice truck and ensure pumice pumps and augers are working.
- Ability to drive forklift.
Role in Food Safety: Follow plant GMP's at all times and ensure work area is secure.

A. Physical Requirements:
This position requires the following physical demands up to 90% of the time:
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Must be able to carry 50 pounds up and down 12 stairs.
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours during a shift minus breaks and lunch.
- Must be able to work in hot, humid and/or cold conditions.
- Must be able to stand, bend, squat, crawl, kneel, reach above shoulders, climb ladders and crawl in tight and awkward work places for long periods of time.
- Must have good hand-eye coordination.
B. Non-Physical Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum one year experience as a decanter operator preferred.
- Special Skills:
- Able to work any shift, overtime and any or all days of the week in accordance with plant needs.
- Knowledge and awareness of proper lifting techniques.
- Knowledge and awareness of chemicals used for CIP and proper PPI while using them.
- Knowledge and awareness of augers and how to maintain covers and guards.
- Knowledge and proper use of lock-out/tag-out procedures.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Superb organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
