POSITION SUMMARY

The Warehouse Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is based out of our Seabrook, New Jersey location. This individual will be responsible for managing a fast-paced distribution center in a private brand beverage bottling/canning plant in compliance with the company's policies and vision. The Warehouse Manager will oversee the receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations, as well as setting up layout and ensuring efficient space utilization.

 

Pay Range for this position is: $97,000-$146,000 plus annual bonus, depending on experience and geographical location. 


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the job)

Responsibilities include:

  • Strategically manage the warehouse in compliance with the company's policies and vision.
  • Oversee receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.
  • Set up the layout and ensure efficient space utilization.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements.
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security.
  • Leads and develops staff reporting directly to this position. Prepares written performance evaluations and individual development plans.
  • Owns inventory control of finished products. Maintains high inventory accuracy through a perpetual cycle count program including FIFO rotation of product. Oversees finished goods stored at third-party warehouses.
  • Owns the department's operating budget including labor utilization and supplies.
  • Oversees the daily door log scheduling through 3 PL providers.
  • Maintains the warehouse SQF III and 5S standards required in a food processing facility.
  • Manages 3rd party forklift maintenance activities for the plant.
  • Leads continuous improvement initiatives in the DC as required to deliver KPIs.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

•     BS degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration

  • Hands-on experience with warehouse management software and databases
  • 5 – 7 years of warehouse supervisory experience required; 2 – 3 years as a distribution center manager preferred in high-speed beverage manufacturing or CPG operations.
  • Experience developing and managing an operating budget.
  • People management skills, including prior experience managing/developing salaried direct reports.
  • Experience using an LMS/ERP system to run queries, perform analysis, and enter related system transactions.
  • Strong planning and organizing skills required to support 24/7 operation in a complex, high-volume DC.
  • Leadership presence and vision to lead, inspire and motivate.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work at the tactical and strategic level.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.

 

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • LEAN/TPM/TPS experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PPT).

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting; driving a motor vehicle and occasionally working in the field.

 

FREQUENT: sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to include extended periods of keyboard and mouse use, side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending and stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at the waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials.

 

OCCASIONAL: squatting, kneeling, reaching above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals; lifting objects weighing 50 pounds from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet.

 

VISION: Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.

 

HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
