POSITION SUMMARY

The Supply Chain Supervisor reports to the Supply Chain Manager, oversees both the finished goods inventory and raw materials inventory, and ensures inventory accuracy. This position also handles the cycle counts for all packaging materials for production (bottles, cartons, caps, cans, ends, slip sheets, corner boards, dog bones, tags, and adhesives). This individual will also be responsible for the inventory of raw materials outside storage facilities. They will also assist with doing a daily yard check and supervise the Materials Coordinator Clerk, Inventory Clerk, Label Coordinator Administrator, and Label Material Handler.

  • Responsibilities include partnering with the Supply Chain Manager
    • Performing high dollar cycle counts (inventory adjustments)
    • Presenting Yield Reports
    • Forecasting Production Volume vs Budget 
  • Validate the prior day's finished good production, including reviewing formula recovery and validating counts versus reported formula recovery. 
  • Adjust work orders in QAD for any count discrepancies and communicate to impacted departments when it is complete
  • Clean out QAD data to match RF versus inventory
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and input results into QAD; must maintain accurate inventory in QAD
  • Complete random cycle counts on raw materials. Determine which items to cycle count and at what frequency. Input cycle counts in QAD and inform impacted departments of any significant cycle count adjustments.
  • Lead daily meetings with the Supply Chain team. 
  • Understand productivity calculations to understand measures and set targets.
  • Prioritize work to support customer service, purchasing, and other departments.
  • Ability to understand financial reports and make decisions based on cost. 
  • Ability to understand inventory principles to keep accurate inventories. Use problem-solving skills to figure out inventory discrepancies issues associated with raw material data in QAD and what is physically on hand; utilize Root Cause Analysis on why data integrity is wrong in QAD.
  • Supervises the Materials Coordinator Clerk, Inventory Clerk, Label Coordinator Administrator, and Label Material Handler, assuring the incumbents demonstrate appropriate levels of job knowledge and skills required to perform their job effectively; provide motivation, follow-up, and training as required to meet all team-building and performance development needs, and maintenance of work area cleanliness standards.
  • The Supply Chain Supervisor is the backup to the Material Coordinator Clerk, Supply Chain Supervisor, and Supply Chain Manager
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Must be proficient with the Microsoft platform and have excellent computer skills.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of production planning experience in a plant environment which includes CIP, Lean Manufacturing, and supply chain environments; 
  • Must have an understanding of production scheduling, procedures, Yields, production run data, analysis of data, and supply chain principles. 
  • Six (6) months supervisory experience. 
  • Forklift certification.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent education and work experience. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.

 

FREQUENT: Ability to talk and hear; ability to sit for prolonged periods to perform computer and administrative work, stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).

 

OCCASIONAL: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height; ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.

 

VISION: Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction. 

 

HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Exposure to noise levels from machinery horns, bottle lines and exhaust fans.
