Job Summary

The Government Relations Intern is responsible for tracking and reporting congressional actions of importance to Leonardo DRS while performing other data management and daily activities required to support the Government Relations team.

Job Responsibilities

•    Monitor, research legislation and regulatory issues that may have an impact on Leonardo DRS business pursuits, and draft position papers and periodic updates in response.
•    Track legislation through hearings, committee and floor action.
•    Provide timely reporting on major defense related legislation, including authorization and appropriations. 
•    Support the Government Relations team in preparation for their advocacy efforts, including research, planning, and preparation of meeting briefs, presentations and reports.
•    Assist in the maintenance of defense related budget and appropriations tracking documents. 
•    Assist in updating external and internal information resources, including websites and publications. 
•    Provide general administrative support to the Government Relations Department.
•    As required, join members of the Government Relations team during participation in public events.
•    Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein as assigned by the Director, Government Relations

Qualifications

•    Currently pursuing a college degree 
•    Communicate effectively orally and in writing
•    Effectively utilize standard office software and computer equipment
•    Proficient knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
