Job SummaryLeonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Senior Payroll Administrator. This position is based out of our Bridgeton, MO facility and will have the option to work an in person or hybrid schedule. The Senior Payroll Administrator will be responsible for processing payroll, including balancing and reconciling payroll figures, preparing bi-weekly journal entries, and reconciling payroll accounts.
Job Responsibilities- Responsible for processing full cycle payroll including balancing and reconciling all payroll figures
- Process New Hires, Intercompany transfers, and Terminations
- Enter employee banking and tax changes in ADP
- Review and post timesheets on a weekly basis
- Prepare journal entries to record Bi-weekly payroll
- Verify payroll, includes validating any exceptions such as overtime, personal time, sick time, vacation time, etc.
- Balance payroll data to the ADP Payroll Preview before submitting payroll to ADP for payment
- Perform three-way reconciliation between Timesheets, Costpoint ERP System, and ADP with each payroll
- Enter and process garnishments interrogatories (Tax Levy, IWO, State and creditor garnishments)
- Balance all year end W-2 data, including gross wages, taxes, life insurance, moving expenses, car allowances, etc.
- Answer payroll inquiries from a variety of sources including employees, management, banks, governmental agencies etc.
- Prepare various reports as required
- Prepare additional journal entries as needed, such as to record void checks, errors, etc.
- Perform account reconciliations for various payroll liability and cash general ledger accounts on a monthly basis, investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Learn Union Payroll to serve as back up for vacations and out of office time
- Review employees City Earnings tax quarterly
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy in a multi-task environment
- Work involves sensitive and confidential information; discretion is essential
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Audit various system controls to ensure accuracy
- High school diploma
- 5+ years of payroll experience
- Mastery of payroll business procedures and principles
- Working knowledge of accounting principles
- Working knowledge of Tax Levy, State and creditor garnishments, and IWOs'
- Working knowledge of computerized payroll systems – ADP, Cognos, CP, SFT a plus
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of local, state and federal laws that pertain to the payment of wages
The salary range for this position is $60,045.00/year- $78,058.00/year for the state of Illinois. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
