Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Production Systems Engineer to advance our systems engineering capabilities in the US, and become a key interface between the systems engineering and manufacturing engineering organizations.  This role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and improving the processes by which customer requirements are translated into customized radar configurations and deployed to production test equipment in our factory.  Responsibilities will involve a mix of systems engineering, test automation, and configuration management. 

The systems engineering group at RADA USA is responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), AI/ML activities, and system performance evaluation.

This is a fully in-person role located in Germantown, Maryland.

Job Responsibilities
  • Review customer specifications and mission requirements and develop standardized processes to translate them to radar requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce processes to manage customer configurations throughout their lifecycle (inception through sunset).
  • Maintain and improve processes supporting the release of customer configurations to production test equipment.
  • Communicate effectively (written and oral) with customers and cross-functional teams including manufacturing, supply chain, program management, and technical personnel.
  • Coordinate technical activities and progress with management, professionals, technicians, and support staff.
  • Contribute to strategic technology planning and innovation to transform the business model.
  • Lead technical activities and teams of engineers to deliver programs on time and within budget.
  • Mentor and guide less-experienced engineers; provide technical expertise and support to engineering and support personnel.
  • Determine system specifications, including architectural design and requirements engineering.
  • Establish and maintain the integrated system technical baseline, including agile change management processes.
  • Analyze, design, develop, implement, document, and support testing of products, systems, and subsystems.
  • Develop prototypes to retire key development risks.
  • Drive design-to-cost and design-for-manufacture objectives.
  • Utilize computer-aided engineering and other design/analysis tools as required.
  • Document component and subsystem specifications and material requirements.
  • Support acquisition of hardware, software, and subcontractor services.
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services.
  • Provide cost, budget, and schedule inputs for design assignments and technical activities.
  • Participate in proposal preparation and technical planning efforts.
  • Attend engineering, customer, and business meetings as required.
  • Support, communicate, and reinforce the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Experience with version control using git
  • Experience with test automation and PowerShell scripting
  • Ability to lead a technical group independently
  • DOD Secret level clearance or ability to obtain a clearance.
  • Broad systems engineering experience including thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles.
  • Ability to develop system requirements from limited customer requirements.
  • Experience developing system engineering artifacts (e.g. specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently execute work tasks in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written, communication, and presentation skills.

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

The salary range for this position is $107,089/year- $166,225/year. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
