Job Summary
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining general ledger accounts and records for short term assets and liabilities.
Minimum Qualifications•Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
•Minimum Years of Experience: 4 Years of experience in accounting
•Substitutable Education & Experience: Associate degree in accounting or related field and 1 years of experience in accounting
•Required Certifications/Licensure: None
•Required Training: Experience and knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
- Review requests for travel advances and reimbursement to ensure compliance with hospital policy and procedures.
- Prepare/update cash summary daily. Balance cash to posting per Patient Care System. Reconcile clearing accounts monthly.
- Calculate, prepare check requests, and make regular deposits or wire transfers for payroll, insurance and investment accounts.
- Reconcile cash for operating, payroll, insurance and spending accounts.
- Prepare monthly journal entries as assigned for General Ledger input.
- Prepare sales tax report monthly. Coordinate audit as requested.
- Review employee purchase account to ensure collection from employees.
- Assist external auditors in appropriate areas of their work.
- Maintain records for miscellaneous cash receipts.
- Process and maintain cash transactions for LMC Foundation.
- Load Accounts Payable and BAR outboxes into PeopleSoft General Ledger.
- Prepare unclaimed property annual report.
- Maintain and send out W-9's for all locations.
- As developments occur or significant concerns arise, advise and update supervisor and other personnel as appropriate.
- Maintain an optimistic and professional image and exhibit excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers. Show courtesy, compassion, and respect. Conform to service excellence policy and "House Rules."Perform other duties as may be assigned by authorized personnel, or as required in an emergency (i.e., fire or disaster).
