Mastercard Transaction Services (‘MTS') is a global center of excellence that provides key services to business lines across Mastercard and enables compliance with regulatory obligations associated with holding funds transfer licenses. MTS manages multiple legal entities and licenses across various Mastercard products.

Mastercard's global Internal Audit team provides independent and objective assurance and advisory services to assess and enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of Mastercard's governance, risk management and internal control processes. This position will be responsible for leading audit coverage of the Mastercard Transaction Services (MTS) business line.
Role:
Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of payments industry, MTS business, Mastercard products, organization, and MTS risk profile to support audit execution and meaningful engagement with stakeholders.
Lead the annual risk assessment process for designated areas, including the development of the annual audit plan and associated scheduling and resourcing
Plan and execute audits within and across business lines, including assessing risks and determining scope of assigned audits
Identify control gaps and process improvement opportunities, and evaluate compliance with operational, legal, regulatory, and IT policies and procedures
Develop and communicate meaningful, value-added audit findings through reports that provide clarity to, and stimulate action from, senior management
Consult with management in determining action items required for resolution of control issues, working directly with senior management as necessary
Track and monitor management action plans to ensure timely resolution
Assist in analysis of internal audit-related obligations against regulatory requirements, either due to the evolving regulatory landscape or MTS business expansion
Meet with regulatory authorities as requested and provide documentation for regulatory inquiries/exams as requested
Support governance processes for MTS (e.g., board meetings, outsourced service review meetings)
Provide risk and control advice and education for the benefit of the MTS organization, be a champion and advocate for strong risk management and governance controls, and partner with other control functions to strengthen the three lines of defense model
Contribute to the development of the audit practice, including methodology, innovation, and use of data analytics

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to express complex processes to a variety of audiences
Track record of engaging with regulators and stakeholders to influence risk remediation approaches and prioritization
Demonstrated commitment to the fields of internal audit and/or risk management
Intellectually curious, self-motivated, passionate, works well independently and as part of a team

Able to deliver high-quality work, within budget and on time
Ability to travel up to 15%
Knowledge/Skills (preferred):
Ability to lead teams to execute audits / risk assessments or similar engagements
Sound understanding of the Standards for Professional Practice of the Institute of Internal Auditors
Exposure to a regulated/licensed environment and fulfilling external regulatory requests or obligations
Ability to design and execute corporate governance, risk and compliance internal audit programs
Familiarity with financial and treasury-related processes and controls
Familiarity with inter-company outsourcing models and related regulatory requirements
Familiarity with industry best practices for data management and governance
Exposure to payments-related products and services (e.g., cross-border payments), including non-traditional payment methods (e.g., card to account, account to card and account to account)
Proficient with data analytics, MS Excel, MS Access, ACL or similar audit tool
Professional Certification or Designation (e.g., CA, CPA, CISA, CIA or equivalent) a plus
