Overview
This role will help drive Acceptance expansion in the market. It will be responsible for Account Management and Business Development across Non‑Banking Acquirers, Payment Facilitators, Gateways, Processors, and Technology Enablers, with a focus on driving profitable revenue growth, expanding Mastercard solutions and services, and addressing day‑to‑day operational challenges.
The role will own a relevant P&L and requires significant interaction with senior executives, both internally and externally, while also contributing to the development of overall team culture and capabilities.
Responsibilities
• Deliver against sales and net revenue targets in a fast‑paced, matrix organization
• Develop and expand relationships with senior‑level stakeholders
• Design strategies, messaging, and customer proposals
• Analyze customer businesses through profitability modeling, financial forecasting, and competitive analysis
• Develop and implement sales plans, including business development, marketing, and product management initiatives
• Partner with customers to establish, execute, and report progress against annual business plans
• Lead projects and cross‑functional initiatives
• Manage complex negotiations and work with customers on execution; ensure delivery on commitments from existing agreements
• Identify and recommend products and solutions to enhance customer profitability
• Act as a subject‑matter expert on payments and the broader market landscape
• Understand and navigate operational and processing workflows
About you:
• Self‑starter with a strong sense of urgency, a bias for action, and the ability to remove obstacles and influence outcomes
• Excellent communication skills; a dynamic speaker with strong intellectual curiosity
• Deep knowledge of the payments ecosystem, including key players and end‑to‑end customer journey fundamentals
• Comfortable in a highly visible role requiring frequent interaction with senior stakeholders and market leaders
• Strong understanding of digital transformation trends and evolving consumer and business spending behaviors
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to build and defend complex business cases
• Proven experience executing and managing sales strategies across multiple complex and/or large accounts
• Demonstrated success in acquiring new business and leveraging payments products, global network rules, and technical capabilities
• Strong track record leading complex negotiations with senior customer stakeholders
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Sales and Account Management (preferred)
• Proficiency in both English and Spanish is required
