The Cyber & Intelligence (C&I) team is responsible for MasterCard's safety and security related product development efforts to protect the integrity of the electronic payment system as well as ensure payments are convenient yet secure. Identity CheckTM from C&I is Mastercard's global authentication solution based on the EMV 3-D Secure protocol and Mastercard state-of-art authentication intelligence. It is designed to help provide security for digital transactions and facilitate higher approval rates, by improving the authentication experience for merchants, issuers, and cardholders for e-commerce transactions.

The C&I Product Engineering for Identity Check is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead software development and Service Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams for the mission-critical, globally distributed, world class enterprise applications that power Mastercard Identity CheckTM

Role:
• Set expectations and goals for the team and individual staff members. Perform performance reviews. Mentor/Coach employees and support employee career growth.
• Recruit and hire the right talent, bringing in someone better than at least half the individuals in the role staff.
• Work closely with Product Management, Product Development, software architects and technical program managers during product ideation, elaboration, and design.
• Manage software development over full SDLC, leveraging agile development principles, advanced development and design practices to deliver real-time solutions that customers love.
• Drive service reliability engineering engagement focusing on security, resiliency, scalability, performance, and operability of Mastercard Identity CheckTM applications, services and underlying platforms.
• Enable operations excellence by building and optimizing tools and capabilities for observability, failure predication and prevention, failure detection and mitigation, as well as operational reliability and efficiency.
• Manage to provide development and SRE support during production emergency response and operations escalation support.
• Build a culture of trust, ownership and purpose. Promote an Agile approach to software development. Insist on a culture of continuous integration and delivery, automation and minimizing blast radius.
• Collaborate with teams across the organization to mitigate risk and resolve dependencies.
• Exercise independent judgment and discretion and play active roles on decision makings.

All About You:
• Experience and successful track record of managing large and complex software development, delivery and support required.
• Passionate about delivering the best customer experience through engineering and operations excellency, focusing on building, and improving resiliency, performance, scale, operability, and automation.
• People management experience with multiple teams with on/offshore resourcing models.
• Possess high-energy, detail-oriented, proactive and adaptive and can work in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to drive results while being resourceful and tactful within a corporate environment.
• Extensive experience evaluating complex strategic initiatives, facilitating, influencing and contributing to design and advancement.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to identify key issues, structure analysis and synthesize data, and provide recommendations effectively.
• Sound technical knowledge of Software development technologies & lifecycle including Rest APIs, Microservices, and infrastructure components.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal are a must.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to build credibility, team oriented, collaborative, and flexible.
• Listening, oral, written and presentation skills and effective interpersonal skills.
• Organizational planning and multi-tasking skills.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred – Experience or knowledge in these areas:
• Java/J2EE based Applications.
• Infrastructure, networking, and cloud-based architecture (AWS, Azure etc).
• Operations escalation support.
• Knowledge/Experience of CI/C, DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bitbucket, GitLab, etc.) and version control systems.
• Release Management and code branching strategies. In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
