Title and Summary
Specialist, Product Operations Overview:The Merchant Solutions Product Excellence team is dedicated to driving strategic initiatives that enhance cross-program efficiency, innovation, and growth across Merchant Solutions, as well as Studio Governance for the wider Global Acceptance & Merchant Solutions (GAMS) organization.
As a member of the team, you will actively participate in the governance of our products and product development lifecycle (PDLC). You should understand product management, the PDLC and generate data-oriented insights that will help the wider Merchant Solutions department, underpinning the Merchant Cloud offering.
Key Responsibilities:
• Understand and assist in the product operations deliverables required to execute on our Merchant Cloud strategy
• Collaborate with stakeholders from Merchant Solutions to ascertain data requirements across teams, including with a particular focus on any domains assigned within your remit.
• Oversee PDLC governance (known as Studio) activities and derive insights to enhance team processes. You will be collaborating with stakeholders across multiple Gateways, previous experience with a payments gateway is a plus.
• Govern and manage the internal Product Catalog changes to assist BizOps and GAMS Product Managers tracking artifacts and maintaining accurate product status information.
• Support and participate in data analysis to answer key questions falling on the Product Exellence team, e.g. track and assess shifts in customer use cases, adoption of new API versions, enablement of various products, etc.
• Participate in the creation and maintenance of product data dashboards and reports for visualizing key metrics and trends.
• Support day-to-day operational activities such as data analysis, process coordination, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide analytical and operational support, including by being a power user of tools used by the team, e.g. Aha, Confluence, Jira.
• Support in onboarding process optimization to reduce the time required to onboard customers while coordinating with the Experience team and other stakeholders.
• Work on business case validation as part of the Global / Regional product intake process to ensure alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
• Support the Product Operations team with mining and mapping new processes for process excellence initiatives, use mapping tools to map the processes.
• Assist with strategic initiatives to drive incremental value for the Gateway Product business, by leveraging deep understanding of the payment gateway business.
• Represent the Program Operations and Transformation team on site in your location, act as a facilitator for team engagement and collaboration.
Qualifications and Experience/Competencies
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Information Technology, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics). Master's degree in business, management or relevant field is a Plus.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Product Management & Data analysis, preferably someone who has worked in the payment gateway business.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with data visualization tools (Figma, Figjam, DOMO, Tableau, Power BI) and data analysis tools (Excel, Splunk, Alteryx).
• Proficiency in working with data cubes (SSAS) and creating complex reports using pivot tables and power query.
• Experience with Python, R, and data science techniques for scaling analysis.
• Advanced SQL skills, with the ability to write optimized queries for large data sets.
• Experience in model development, data management, data mining, data analytics, data reporting, data product development, and quantitative analysis.
• Experience in the managing a PDLC framework for a technology product. Ideally have knowledge of Mastercard Studio framework.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, preferably someone who understands and is familiar interacting with the typical stakeholders of a payment gateway platform.
• Highly motivated, self-driven, and intellectually curious, with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and accountability.
• Financial Institution or payment gateway experience is a plus, with a preference for candidates with experience in managing Mastercard Payment Gateway Services.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize work in a high-paced environment.
