Title and Summary

Vice President, Audit Overview

Internal Audit provides independent, objective assurance designed to improve Mastercard's operations and control environment. Internal Audit helps Mastercard accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management. Internal Audit also performs advisory and consultative services to support business owners as they enhance their controls and business operations. Strategy, Innovation & Enablement (SIE) powers the Internal Audit function, providing standards, insights, innovation, process optimization and training. More specifically, SIE drives excellence and impact through executing strategy, fostering innovation, ensuring robust governance, enabling efficient practices, optimizing audit operations and delivering insightful reporting.

Role

The VP, SIE reports to the Chief Audit Executive and interacts extensively with department leadership. The VP will oversee the global SIE team with responsibility over strategy, governance, innovation, audit practices, audit operations, enablement activities, and reporting. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in processes, project management, change management and communication skills to manage improvement initiatives and effectively deliver results.
• Serve as a member of the Audit Leadership team
• Oversee the development of department strategy, objectives, risk-based global audit plan, and associated scheduling/resourcing
• Drive/support Audit Committee planning, preparation, and agenda management
• Lead risk alignment with external auditor and second line of defense functions (e.g., ERM, ORM, SOX, Compliance)
• Oversee development/enhancement/administration of:
­ -Audit methodology and tools, including department policies, practices, and procedures
­ -Management and stakeholder reporting
­ -Quality Assurance & Improvement Program (QAIP)
­ -Auditor Training Program (core and supplemental auditor training)
­ -Manage external regulatory requirements and requests
­ -Data Analytics Program (design and execute strategy to expand the use of data analytics to support risk assessment and audit execution)
­ -Manage team of professionals with operations and analytics responsibility

• Strong project management and audit and/or risk & controls experience; U.S. public company with global operations preferred

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
