We're looking for an outstanding communicator and master storyteller who is driven and inherently curious, always eager to find a better way to do things and take things to the next level. You will work well under demanding timelines and have a keen eye for detail, able to finish projects to the highest level. You will excel at building relationships and strive for excellence in everything you do.
You will work cross-functionally across the different markets to:
o Develop compelling and relevant narratives
o Build relationships and communicate with journalists and key partners and influencers in tech, business and the mainstream press
o Devise communications campaigns and materials to support business priorities
o Help run Mastercard's ‘Storylab' to drive engagement across different stakeholder groups, with a special focus on online and social media
Responsibilities
o Strategy & Planning:
o Works in close partnership with global and local Mastercard teams and agency partners to develop and drive integrated external communications plans in alignment with business objectives and priorities.
o Responsibility for developing and executing an annual MEA external communications plan spanning PR/media relations, social media and events.
o Media Relations:
o Oversees all PR and media relations engagement and activity across MEA.
o Responsibility for media monitoring, reporting and managing local and global approval processes.
o Content Creation:
o Responsible for developing and maintaining MEA central narratives, hot topics and executive messaging.
o Leads the creation of communication materials for internal and external audiences including, press releases, internal and external briefing documents, speeches, video scripts and content for use on social media channels.
o Event Management:
o Manages external events across MEA and holds responsibility for overseeing execution/delivery of related events.
o Supplier Management:
o Responsible for managing MEA PR agency relationship, in addition to other suppliers as required.
Profile & Key Skills
o Very strong communication experience with a track record in MEA
o Highly collaborative with exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
o Serves as a trusted counselor on issues related to communications and reputation
o Outstanding command of the English language with clear written and verbal communications capability.
o Strong/advanced writing and content development capability.
o Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
o Digital first mindset from a PR/online/social perspective, with experience of working on influencer campaigns.
o Ability to focus and prioritize on a variety of activities and announcements in a dynamic, creative, fast paced environment.
o Exceptional media relations skills in order to help shape a story.
o Experience managing and engaging with senior leaders in an organization, and supporting them at speaking events and conferences.
o Extensive knowledge and network with media/journalists in the Middle East and Africa.
o Ability to navigate a matrixed organization with multiple internal stakeholder groups.
o The position will be based out of Dubai Office and travel will be required up to 25% of the time.
