Title and Summary
VP, Senior Managing Counsel, Global Competition Law, Compliance and Policy OverviewAs Mastercard's VP, Senior Managing Counsel for Global Competition Law, Compliance and Policy, you will define, lead and oversee Mastercard's global competition law and antitrust compliance policy. You will partner with all business lines to enable innovation and growth, whilst ensuring compliance in a rapidly evolving business and regulatory environment.
Role:
• Report to the General Counsel, Litigation and serve as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders and their teams.
• Define, lead and oversee Mastercard's global competition law and antitrust compliance policy, by:
o Managing Mastercard's Global Antitrust and Competition Law Policy to ensure that it reflects current developments in the law and the evolution of Mastercard's business.
o Performing periodic global competition law compliance risk assessments and designing and implementing controls to mitigate the identified risks.
o Implementing a comprehensive monitoring and testing program to measure and ensure the effectiveness of the Policy.
o Partnering with compliance and HR training teams to design, develop and implement online training and conduct live training.
o Developing and implementing a communications plan to enhance awareness of the Policy and presenting reports to senior management, risk and compliance committees.
o Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and drive efficiencies; including through technology and AI.
o Working closely with compliance and the law department to oversee and manage regulatory investigations and inquiries related to competition law/antitrust matters.
o Partnering with business and legal colleagues to evaluate and assess products, services and technologies to ensure compliance with competition laws and regulations.
All About You:
• 10+ years antitrust and competition law experience both as an outside counsel and in-house counsel with a deep understanding of US and EU competition laws.
• Prior experience and responsibility for developing and implementing antitrust compliance programs as an in-house counsel on either a regional or global level.
• Strong project management, process improvement skills and communication skills.
• Excellent strategic judgment, business first mindset, and executive presence.
