**This is a hybrid, summer internship with students expected to work onsite 3 days in‑office days each week in the Brooklyn, OH office. **   

Summer Internship Program

Medical Mutual's Summer Internship Program provides meaningful, project-based experiences that allow students to apply classroom knowledge to real business challenges. Interns gain hands-on exposure through impactful projects, mentorship, professional development opportunities, networking events, and collaboration with experienced professionals across the organization.

Internship Overview

The Learning & Performance Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting corporate training, instructional design, learning technologies, and project management initiatives. This role provides exposure to the full learning lifecycle, including curriculum development, classroom facilitation, training operations, stakeholder engagement, and organizational learning programs. Through meaningful projects and day-to-day collaboration with training and business professionals, the intern will develop practical skills in adult learning principles, facilitation, communication, and learning technology management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Learning & Performance team members to support training initiatives that enhance employee performance and business results.
  • Prepare and deliver a 30-60 minute teach-back session in partnership with a facilitator.
  • Assist in preparing and facilitating a live training session for employees.
  • Support the development of new e-learning content with guidance from instructional design professionals.
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings and lead portions of project discussions and activities.
  • Update and maintain training materials, participant guides, and presentation decks.
  • Analyze training evaluation data and prepare reports to support learning effectiveness initiatives.
  • Meet with business partners to better understand learning and development needs across the organization.
  • Gain exposure to quality processes through shadowing opportunities and team collaboration.
  • Support learning operations activities, including learning management system administration, class setup, communications, and virtual training support.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree.
  • Junior, senior, or graduate-level student.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 (3.0 preferred).
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for approximately 12 consecutive weeks during Summer 2027.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Communications, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience with Microsoft Cloud applications such as SharePoint and OneDrive.
  • Interest in learning and development, training, instructional design, or organizational effectiveness.
  • Experience presenting information to groups.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or e-learning tools.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting.
