Job Summary:
Supports process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives within a functional area. Contributes to the effort to foster a culture of sustainable change within the area through embedding continuous improvement methodologies and the supporting framework to deliver business transformation. Uses a combination of tools to drive outcomes, including Kaizen, process redesign/improvement that could be related to system conversions, complex/structured problem solving. Networks with other continuous improvement professionals within the organization to develop best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Leads continuous improvement projects in a functional area, which enable the attainment of key strategic objectives to improve quality, reduce cost, and increase productivity.
- Leads the development of process metrics and continuous improvement strategy and methodology.
- Works closely with business managers to develop and implement process metrics.
- Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement within business area and builds stakeholder network to accomplish their implementation.
- Mentors colleagues in the usage of Continuous Improvement framework and tools.
- Supports the delivery of accredited continuous improvement training to colleagues from other business areas.
- Completes post-implementation reviews to ensure successful delivery has been achieved and to ensure that improvements can be made for future projects.
- Participates in special projects as requested by management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, statistics, analytics, operations management, or related field.
- 7 years of proven continuous improvement experience from a similar role, including project management and business analysis.
- 3-5 years of experience in the health insurance field preferred.
Professional Certification(s):
- Continuous Improvement/Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Expertise in business process management software skills
- Expert knowledge of Six Sigma tools
- Intermediate MS Office skills
