This is role based out of the Brooklyn, OH office, with the Manager expected to work onsite 4 days each week (Mon - Thurs in office; Fri remote).

The Manager, Data Engineering will lead a team of Data Engineers and Business Systems Analysts responsible for standardizing, managing, and delivering enterprise data that supports Risk Adjustment, HEDIS, broker operations, and other key business functions. This hands-on leadership role oversees data intake, data delivery, stakeholder partnerships, data quality, modernization initiatives, and emerging AI capabilities while ensuring critical business and regulatory data needs are met.Job Summary:
Responsible for conceptualizing and implementing a corporate-wide program that helps Medical Mutual of Ohio speed the development of insight from high quality, timely, and well-structured and governed data sources. Responsible for creating and designing innovative architectural solutions to scale our ability to learn from and use data to achieve business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of software developers and data modelers to Design and Deliver functional data warehouse models for assigned areas.
- Create a robust, highly automated multi-layer warehouse that can be used by Data Scientists and Business Analysts at all levels of the organization.
- Support the use of data to achieve business outcomes, supporting federated partner teams and directly developing data pipelines or extracts to solve business problems with data.
- Ensure the warehouse is continuously improved to add capability and improve speed-to-insight.
- Develop AI agents built on top of the data warehouse that help business leaders and users answer questions, improve insights, and perform action.
- Develop visible data quality measures to ensure high data quality.
- Contribute to the team:
- Act as the technical subject matter expert.
- Translate functional requests into a robust and flexible data model.
- Contribute to planning, road mapping, and quality ownership for assigned subject areas.
- Lead data-related communication for assigned subject areas.
- Advise and mentor team members to maximize effectiveness of the team.
- Work collaboratively across the organization:
- Collaborate with members of partner teams to design flexible solutions.
- Collaborate with members of Compliance, Legal and IT security to ensure solutions meet appropriate regulatory requirements.
- Cultivates strong business relationships with business stakeholders.
- Coordinate efforts within own team/ immediate team members.
- Support the Director of Data Engineering in meeting their goals by providing technical leadership and strong delivery capabilities, while acting as a partner of strategic matters related to the data ecosystem.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree required in Computer Science, Software development or related field or equivalent years of experience.
- As this is an entry level management position, prior management experience is not required.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of database systems, and warehousing technologies
