General Summary of Position
Functions as a clinical expert and health care provider educator collaborator consultant leader and researcher for a specific patient population or specialty topic. Uses a framework for professional evidence-based nursing practice within three spheres of influence: patient/family nursing and system/organization. Acts as a consultant to address complex patient care issues providing guidance in prevention and management of patient care practice. Coordinates coaches educates and leads nursing staff in evidence-based clinical practice quality improvement and patient safety. Conducts facilitates or applies research to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
- Master's degree in Nursing required
- For the Performance Improvement Clinical Specialist the Master's degree in Nursing plus Lean training are required within one year from hire.
- Doctoral degree in Nursing Education or Healthcare Administration preferred
- 5-7 years of progressively more responsible job related experience in Nursing required
- Experience in nursing advanced practice role preferred
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the District of Columbia required
- Specialty certification from a nationally recognized nursing organization within 1 Year required
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required

This position has a hiring range of
USD $87,318.00 - USD $157,289.00 /Yr.
