About the Job

General Summary of Position
This position reports to the Manager of Data Science or designee within Quality Data Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE) team. The team's objective is to empower a high-performing healthcare system through intelligent data-driven improvement & innovation. The Data Scientist relies on a degree of professional experience to contribute to advanced analytic initiatives. With supervision this position works with team members on the fulfillment of data needs applying standard analytical techniques independently on assigned components to deliver accurate and timely insights that drive decision-making.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Performs data analysis and actively contribute to advanced analytics initiatives.
  • Collaborates with the team to deliver relevant meaningful insights that drive timely well-informed decisions.
  • Collaborates with the team to uphold rigorous methodological validity and data quality so stakeholders can confidently rely on outputs.
  • Engages with clinical and operational partners to clarify requirements and communicate results.
  • Contributes to department productivity through teamwork professionalism and initiative; performs structured work assignments.
  • Works with supervision and may receive more detailed instruction on new projects of moderate scope and complexity.

Minimal Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required

Experience

  • 2 years related experience required 
  • Experience in data validation and quality assurance methods required 
  • 3-4 years related experience preferred
  • One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrates working knowledge of data science tools (e.g. Python R SQL) and statistical concepts.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of applying analytical modeling to real-world problems.
  • Possesses knowledge of structured data electronic health records (EHR) and relevant healthcare data.
  • Able to independently translate ambiguous questions into structured analytical approaches formulating necessary assumptions to drive work forward without waiting for explicit instructions.
  • Possesses excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate information to technical & non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrates a highly proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems autonomously anticipating next steps rather than relying on direction.

This position has a hiring range of

USD $82,617.00 - USD $157,352.00 /Yr.
