We are seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Associate (PA) to join the Inpatient Abdominal Transplant Surgery team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.

The MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute is a nationally recognized leader in abdominal organ transplantation and provides life-restoring care to patients with end-stage organ failure. The program is one of the largest liver transplant centers in the nation, performing more than 100 liver transplants each year and providing patients with timely access to transplantation.

 

Across its history, the Institute has performed more than 7,500 liver, kidney, small bowel, colon, stomach, and multi-organ transplants. The program also provides advanced hepatobiliary surgical care and offers autologous islet cell transplantation for patients suffering from chronic pancreatitis.

About the Position

This is a dedicated night-shift, inpatient-only provider role supporting the Abdominal Transplant Surgery service.

  • 13-hour night shifts
  • 12 shifts every 4 weeks
  • Includes weekends and select holidays
  • Dedicated night provider — no scheduled daytime shifts
  • Inpatient-only
  • No operating room responsibilities
  • Night differential included in compensation

This role is an excellent opportunity for an APP who enjoys complex inpatient care, collaborative decision-making, and working within a highly specialized surgical environment.

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current board certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
  • Current or eligible for District of Columbia PA or NP licensure
  • Previous clinical experience preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team

This position has a hiring range of

USD $115,000.00 - USD $190,000.00 /Hr.
