Join our Pre-Anesthesia Testing (PAT) team, where your organization, communication, and attention to detail help ensure patients are fully prepared for safe, seamless surgical experiences. In this part-time role, you'll serve as a key connection point between patients, providers, and care teams—keeping critical information moving and supporting high-quality care delivery every step of the way.
In this role, you'll provide essential administrative and coordination support to the PAT department and broader care team. You'll help ensure all required medical and insurance information is obtained, accurate, and readily available within the electronic health record—supporting timely surgical readiness.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing communication with physician offices, patients, and external partners to obtain required pre-anesthesia documentation
- Manage and upload medical records (including electronic faxes) into patient charts with accuracy and timeliness
- Verify and retrieve insurance information using multiple systems and resources
- Track patient progress across pre- and post-operative milestones and assist with scheduling as needed
- Proactively escalate missing or inconsistent information to prevent delays in care
- Support a highly organized, compliant, and patient-centered environment aligned with regulatory and quality standards
- Participate in team initiatives, process improvement efforts, and ongoing learning opportunities
Minimal Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required (Associate's or Bachelor's preferred)
- Knowledge of medical terminology required
- Less than 1 year 6 months unit secretary registration medical records or related clinical healthcare experience required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and write in English perform arithmetic calculations and communicate with patients their families/caregivers and professionals effectively.
- Incumbents in positions must be detail-oriented and able to multitask and prioritize work to facilitate efficient and timely care planning and coordination of care.
- Ability to work within a variety of software applications including MS Office Suite electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining service-oriented courteous interactions with internal and external customers.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in various formats (e.g. written verbal diagram etc.).
This position has a hiring range of
USD $18.70 - USD $32.72 /Hr.
