General Summary of Position
Under the general direction of the Clinical Engineering leadership team, the Clinical Engineering Technician II is primarily responsible for maintaining clinical equipment and systems considered to be advanced, specialty, highly sophisticated, integrated technology, or requiring manufacturer service training or certification, through the effective use of the medical equipment management plan, while adhering to all medical equipment policies and procedures, and manufacturer or alternative equipment maintenance (AEM) specifications. Performs a variety of tasks associated with the installation, testing, maintenance, calibration and repair of medical equipment and systems.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Associate's degree Biomedical equipment technology, electronics or related field required or
- related military work/training in mechanical or electrical engineering or academic work or actual work experience aligned with AAMI's Core Competencies for the Biomedical Equipment Technician. required
Experience
- 3-4 years years experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment and systems. required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to anticipate tasks and prioritize assignments.
- Ability to input data into computer programs.
- Ability to travel between sites as necessary.
- Ability to work with all levels of internal and external customers.
- Knowledge of basic electricity/electronics principles.
- Knowledge of hospital and department procedures and operations.
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
- Provide hospitable customer service.
- Skill in the use of basic hand tools and testing equipment.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission and other regulatory agency's accreditation requirements.
