Nurse Manager (RN) Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic

Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Nurse Manager to lead the operational management of our Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in pediatric hematology/oncology and a proven track record of managing high-volume healthcare settings. This role is responsible for overseeing daily clinical operations, patient flow, compliance, quality improvement, and staff management to maintain our Center of Excellence designation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic, ensuring efficiency and high standards of patient care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and administrative leadership to optimize patient flow, scheduling, and departmental productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory standards.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Manage departmental budgets, staffing, and resource allocation.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage nursing staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
    Coordinate performance improvement (PI) and quality assurance (QA) measures to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic and hospital administration to align departmental goals with broader organizational objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited academic nursing program required. 
    Master's degree preferred.
  • Three to Four years' experience required
  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the District of Columbia required.
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required.
    Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit. 
  • Pediatric Nursing Certification (CPN) or Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) is desirable.
