General Summary of Position
Functions as an expert resource, providing guidance to staff members, HR business partners, and management on complex compensation issues. Supports the development and administration of compensation programs and policies designed to attract, motivate, reward, and retain the most qualified employees. Evaluates jobs across the various sectors of MedStar Health; collects and analyzes market data; participates in market surveys conducted by third-party administrators; oversees the job description process; makes appropriate compensation recommendations and provides guidance to Human Resources and management. Leads projects as assigned. Participates in the annual merit and market process.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience required
Experience
- 5-7 years compensation analyst experience preferably in a health care environment required
Licenses and Certifications
- One of the following certifications is preferred; SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)-HRCI, Professional in Human Resources (PHR)-HRCI or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Expert knowledge of compensation systems, principles of wage and salary administration and market pricing methodology.
- Strong knowledge of Federal and State laws governing wage and salary administration.
- Demonstrated ability to solve a full range of complex problems.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access software applications.
- Working knowledge of marketing pricing software is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with JDXpert preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
