General Summary of Position
Controls quality and manages all aspects of the Supply Chain information systems at the acute care facilities. Primary responsibility for the accuracy and maintenance of the MedStar business unit supply level data including location, bins, and reorder information. Primary contact for supply conversions, surgical system synchronization, and preference card assistance at the business unit. Supports the performance improvement implementation teams and utilizes business intelligence drivers to affect positive change. Assists site-based supply chain training and auditing department procedures.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with ERP specialists to ensure accurate business process requirements translation.
  • Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
  • Identifies and leads projects related to performance improvement implementations.
  • Leads site specific improvement implementation projects.
  • Maintains facility based point-of-use and other supply chain sub-systems ensuring data accuracy while providing regular reporting on utilization and compliance.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate. Participates in meetings, serves on committees and represents the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts as appropriate.
  • Participates in site based user acceptance testing.
  • Performs consistent reviews of business unit content to help ensure accurate use capture and set ups.
  • Responsible for the development and proper adherence to Supply Chain IS processes as they apply to the business unit Supply Chain information systems.
  • Responsible for the quality of facility based data and system synchronizations.
  • Supports Supply Chain and other key associates by providing business intelligence and training.
  • Works and resolves hospital specific supply chain system errors.
  • Works closely with key department heads and Supply Chain associates to ensure proper adherence to departmental procedures.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field required
    • One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

    Experience

    • Peoplesoft or other 1st tier erp system experience, database experience sql or query writer experience, and supply chain systems experience (pyxis, omni cell, par excellence, etc.) required and
    • 1-2 years 2 years experience in a healthcare environment preferred and
    • Healthcare operations experience preferred
    • One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.

    Licenses and Certifications

    • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt - SIXSIGYB Lean six sigma yellow belt preferred and
    • Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) Purchasing certificate preferred and
    • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)-APICS Inventory Control certificate, preferred and
    • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI Project management course completion. preferred

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Ability to translate business process requirements into best practice system procedures, develop action plans based on performance information, facilitate team meetings, utilize MS Excel, MS Access, and other office applications at an intermediate level and communicate effectively verbally and via email.


    This position has a hiring range of $70,428 - $131,310
