Under the direction of the primary care operations team, the Primary Care Patient Care Lead MA works directly with Mercy Primary Care Providers to provide safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient-centered care in a systematic way. The Primary Care Patient Care Lead MA will partner with patients, providers, and other members of the clinical care team to drive quality outcomes for all patients. Qualifications

Education:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • New hire must attend MA Clinic Academy training.

  • All competency completed for Advanced Medical Assistant.

Certification(s): BLS (Basic Life Support) 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program

  • Experience: Caregiver has previous documented Medical Assistant experience of at least two years.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:  
  • Quality Performance Metrics Champion-anticipates patterns and links to issues and looks beyond immediate problem to the wider implications.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency with EHR systems and clinical documentation.

  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment.

  • Knowledge of common outpatient procedures and equipment.

  • Commitment to patient-centered care and professional growth.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of varying differences and behaviors among populations served.  

 

Work Environment:  

  • Outpatient clinical setting with frequent patient interaction.

  • Requires standing, walking, lifting, and use of clinical equipment.

  • Potential exposure to infectious materials; PPE provided.  

 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.  

  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.

  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
