Medical Assistant - Mercy Clinic Neurology

St. Louis, MO 63128

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for nursing, care, examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of medications and their effects, patient education, principles to develop a self-care program, instruments and common safety practices.

Job Duties:

  • Provides compassionate, patient‑centered nursing care in an outpatient neurology setting, involving patients and families in care decisions.

  • Assesses, plans, delivers, and documents nursing care, including patient education and follow‑up, in the electronic medical record.

  • Coordinates care and communicates pertinent patient information with providers and the multidisciplinary care team to support safe, high‑quality outcomes.

  • Reviews and appropriately responds to diagnostic, laboratory, and clinical findings per clinic protocols.

  • Utilizes evidence‑based practice, organizational policies, and professional standards in practice.

  • Participates in quality improvement activities, required education, competencies, and certifications.

  • Demonstrates accountability, maintains effective communication, and supports clinic operations and patient flow.

  • Delegates and oversees care tasks as appropriate and performs other duties as assigned.
