Mercy is hiring Patient Care Associates to support patient care across multiple inpatient units, including Cardiac, General Surgery, Med/Tele, Neuro, Observation, Oncology, and Orthopedics. What You'll Do

Patient Care Associate (PCA):

  • Obtain and document vital signs

  • Assist patients with daily care needs including meals, bathing, toileting, mobility, and transport

  • Provide clerical and unit support as needed

Patient Care Technician (PCT):

(Includes PCA duties, plus additional skills)

  • Phlebotomy and blood cultures

  • Enteral feeding and wound care

  • IV and Foley catheter removal

  • Tracheostomy care and suctioning

Training Provided

  • No experience required – we'll train you

  • Complete a 175-hour Mercy training program (meets state requirements)

  • BLS certification required within 1 month of hire

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required

  • CNA preferred but not required

  • Students in healthcare career programs and current Mercy co-workers encouraged to apply

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

  • Prolonged standing and walking

  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting
