Find your calling at Mercy! The Planning Director will lead Mercy's planning and design direction for keeping Mercy on the industry leading edge while working closely with Mercy planning, design and construction and strategic partners to assure Mercy's brand objectives are accomplished. This role involves collaborating with various teams and strategic partners in review of, or creating budgets, schedules, building design guidelines and assuring brand and strategic objectives are consistent in projects across the ministry. This position, in collaboration with clinical and service line leadership shall be part of creating the future operational and design models for Mercy including workflow efficiencies, new technologies, designs of the future and their implementation. Position Details:

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management or planning-related degree from an accredited university.
Experience: 12 years of progressive experience in planning, research, design, and construction across various facility developments, 5 of those years are specifically focused on the healthcare industry, involving both existing facilities and large-scale replacements.
Certification:

Preferred Qualifications:
License: Architecture or Interior Design License or procuring is preferred.
Certification: Any or combination of AIA, NCIDQ, LEED AP, EDAC, or CHC member.

Other Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: 
•    Demonstrates knowledge of basic healthcare codes, regulations, and construction methods.
•    Ability to travel 25%.
•    Ability to develop and implement consistent planning and design models, and gain acceptance from various teams and senior leadership.
•    Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with project teams, local and senior leadership, and strategic partners.
•    Collaborative skills to work with others in establishing and tracking operational efficiencies and pioneering new initiatives with advanced technologies.
•    Skills in training and developing strategic partners and team members on brand and operational initiatives, as well as team building.
•    Leadership skills to facilitate meetings, create and deliver presentations, solve problems, set goals, and develop implementation plans.
