Overview:

 

Plans, performs, organizes and directs patient care in a physician practice. Interacts with the physicians, nurse practitioners, medical assistants and office staff to achieve the highest quality of patient care. Maintains accurate medical records in Epic.

 

Responsibilities:

Triage phone calls as directed by physician.Assists with procedures and performs tests as directed by physician or nurse practitioner.Administers medications and treatments as directed by physician or nurse practitioner.Documents all visits, telephone encounters, procedures, medications, and education in Epic accurately and in timely manner.Provides patient education as needed.Calls patients with lab test results and calls pharmacy. Ensure appropriate communication, including scheduling appointments, tests, ordering and documenting prescriptions, processing and documenting messages. Maintains supplies and medications appropriately.Coordinate DME/Home Health referrals and authorizations.Assist with orienting of newly hired medical assistants.Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school or GED; graduate of accredited RN school.
  • Licensure: Requires current RN licensure in state of practice.
  • Experience:
    • Other: Customer service and computer skills required.
    • Preferred Experience: Physician office experience preferred.
