The Commercial Claims Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of Commercial Line adjusters and successfully interact with our internal and external business partners.
Job Responsibilities:
- The position requires excellent communication and time management skills as well as a strong organizational background. This individual must be a creative & proactive problem solver, analytical and an independent contributor who can also work as a member of the team. The successful candidate will also be a disciplined self-starter, decisive, “own” their decisions and the work they produce. Must be able to manage their own team and work successfully with internal and external business partners.
- Maintains accurate and complete personnel records to include mentoring the ongoing progress and performance of Commercial Representatives and Commercial Specialists and oversee the day-to-day operations and workflows for Commercial Claims team. Guides staff with coverage determinations when needed for our Commercial lines of business, CA, BOP, & CPP. Provides oversight into managing claims and laws in multiple jurisdictions and will intercede as appropriate to handle individual claims. Participate in Internal claim committee reviews.
- Conduct file reviews for quality and accuracy to ensure commercial claims staff adhere to best practices and set adequate reserves on claim files. Ensures staff compliance with liability laws and mandated regulatory reporting requirements, as well as customer handling requests.
- Instruct, counsel, and provide directions to Commercial Representatives and Commercial Specialists on established as well as new and altered procedures and responsibilities. Review complex claim matters, emerging issues, and new policy forms with staff. Assures peak performance of the team through continued training and coaching, coupled with regular performance evaluations. Functions as liaison, suggesting and implementing final resolution for clients and employees regarding claim-specific, procedural or special requests.
- Demonstrates exceptional critical thinking, problem solving, and innovation with a confident presence with exceptional communication skills (verbal, listening and written) and can provide both positive and difficult feedback. Demonstrates ability to work independently and remotely to achieve results with limited supervision and the ability to maintain a high level of productivity, confidentiality and customer service.
Required Qualifications:
- AIC Designation
- College degree and/or relevant work experience
- State licenses as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous leadership experience
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials.
Pay Range: $86,020-$108,498Eligible full-time employees receive a competitive Total Rewards package, including but not limited to a 401(k) with employer match up to 8% and additional service-based contributions, Health, Dental, and Vision insurance, Life and Disability coverage, generous PTO, Paid Sick Leave, and paid parental leave in addition to state-mandated leave.
