Description
At NorthBay Health, the Clinical Nurse Supervisor is a transformational leader who functions as the first-line shift supervisor for the unit and has the following responsibilities:
- Works under the supervision of the Clinical Manager
- Has the responsibility, accountability, and the authority to deliver safe, effective, excellent nursing care according to the philosophy and goals/objectives of the organization Patient Care Services Division
- Utilizes Jean Watson's Theory of Caring, Relationship Based Care, and NorthBay's professional nursing practice model, supports the mission, vision, values and expectation of excellence of the organization
- Responsible for leadership and supervision of direct care staff, daily operations, leading the team to meet service goals, maintaining and promoting professional development
- Delegates care to other health care personnel consistent with their scope of practice, job description, competency
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing. Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing required (Employees who are grandfathered are exempted).
Licensure: Valid and current RN license by the State of California. Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS.
Experience: Three years of acute care experience in area of specialty required. Demonstrated leadership abilities. National certification in specialty area preferred.
Communication: Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
Standards of Performance: Demonstrate performance by adhering to established policies and procedures and exhibiting the defined characteristics associated with attendance and punctuality. Attendance is an essential function of the job.
Hours of Work: Variable
