Description

At NorthBay Health, the Health Information Management Lead assists leadership in coordinating functions related to the daily operations of the HIM Department. Monitors daily workflow and assigns responsibility based on priorities of the department. Assists as a UKG administrator and in maintaining time/attendance records. Performs medical record reviews and compiles data for reporting. Participates in training and monitoring employee's productivity and processes. Coordinates managing the data integrity of the master patient index. Provides back-up coverage and support to HIM clerical positions as required. Participates in leadership activities as outlined in primary job duties. Ensures that customers are treated in a manner consistent with NorthBay's values. Acts as a Super user for Transcription Services and liaison. Coordinates/manages the Community Physician Access program.

Qualifications

  1. Education:  AA degree is preferred or completion of some college courses in Health Information Management preferred. 
  2. Licensure/Certification: Obtain an HFMA Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) Certification within 9 months of start date
  3. Experience: Minimum three years' experience working in a HIM department in an acute care hospital. 
  4. Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills and comprehensive knowledge of state and federal chart completion and release of information requirements. Knowledge and experience with Personal Computer and computer systems. Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time. Demonstrated ability to lead others in complying with policies and procedures. Working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel. Past experience with Cerner HIM applications or equivalent systems required.

  6. Hours of Work:  Monday through Friday, as scheduled based on business need. 
  7. Compensation: $33 to $47 based on years of experience doing the duties of the role.
