Touchstone Energy provides marketing, communications and member services support to our nearly 700 member cooperatives. Through research on member satisfaction and engagement; creative assets like videos, ads and social media libraries; customer service training and education; and a full service web development team, we help cooperatives build stronger relationships with their member-owners.
NRECA's Education, Training & Events team designs, delivers, and facilitates high-impact learning experiences and events—both online and in person--that empower cooperative leaders and staff to guide their organizations and communities into the future. The portfolio includes certification programs, a robust education curriculum of 100+ courses, leadership development programs, a trade show, thought leadership events and multi-day conferences.
Position Summary:
Develops and maintains national web sites for Touchstone Energy (TSE) members and local web sites for Touchstone Energy member systems, providing technical, functional and administrative support. Works with the SHiNE team to ensure the program runs smoothly and helps contribute to yearly project goals and objectives. Provides user education and support for co-ops using the SHiNE program. Works to solve technical support tickets and provides creative solutions to members.
Key Responsibilities:
Supports daily operations of TSE web based programs and services. Works with SHiNE CMS and Co-op Web Builder platforms (Drupal) to build co-op web sites that provide brand identity and continuity.
Coordinates and oversees third-party development, ensuring that program and framework standards are met for the purpose of offering a seamless and consistent experience.
Works with members to design web sites using several templates included with the SHiNE and Co-op Web Builder platforms.
Assists members by answering inquiries, filling member requests, and troubleshooting problems in a timely manner.
Offers input and feedback to cooperative members on content, mulitmedia applications, structure, design and Touchstone Energy brand standards.
Trains members to use the SHiNE CMS and Co-op Web Builder platforms. Serves as technical support “help desk” for users and gathers information from co-ops to support development of future platform enhancements.
Frequently reviews and monitors websites for accuracy and at-risk status.
Supports development and maintainance for internal TSE related web sites including TouchstoneEnergy.com, CooperativeAdvantage.com, Next.touchstoneenergy.com, and other team-related sites. Updates content and graphics and assists internal TSE staff.
Collaborates with contractors, internal NRECA IT and other groups to maintain web sites.
Leads TSE contractors and Jr. Web Developers by example. Shows dominate ownership via the ticket system and morale coaching and support.
Continually contributes to improving training resources and updates to the user manuals.
Develops platform-wide and site-specific functionality in accordance with Drupal development standards, including creating custom modules, custom themes and utility scripts.
Experience and Certifications Required:
3 or more years of experience working on web design utilizing content management systems (including WordPress and Drupal) utilizing a variety of design tools including one or more of the following: Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch or other web design tools.
Moderate experience with Javascript and JQuery.
Expert HTML/CSS coding experience required.
Bachelor's degree in Web/Digital Design, Development, Information Technology, or related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required (as demonstrated by prior work experience):
Ability to develop custom webforms and provide JavaScript solutions.
Ability to effectively interact with others and work in a team environment providing follow-ups.
Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse membership, employees and/or vendors in a clear and precise manner.
Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point) and to operate various office equipment such as personal computer, copier, printer, fax machine or other job-related equipment.
Ability to provide service excellence by building relationships, being resourceful, responsive and respectful.
Ability to report to the office when required.
Essential Physical Requirements:
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
