The City of Brampton is looking for Security Guards. Strict but diplomatic enforcement of security is required. You will, in the course of your duties, encounter numerous situations which cannot be covered by Standing Orders, site specific security operations procedures which outlines the duties and contain property and facility information. For this reason, it is imperative that you have a proven ability to use your own initiative and judgement and can represent the City of Brampton in a firm but courteous manner.

 

Job Description:

Working on assigned shifts, you will work full time shifts providing proactive and reactive security training to all new and current employees of City of Brampton. You will be required to support the Team Lead and the Security Service Management Team In all areas of Training and Development. Training Leads may write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to coded emergencies in a quick and efficient manner.  You should display excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistance.  In this role, it is essential that you are physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periods of time. This position is a high-caliber position and will also include the following responsibilities: 

• Ensuring Dispatchers assigned to work at the City meet the mandatory skill set required to work at the assigned location
• Ensuring Dispatchers assigned to work at the City are licensed, have the completed the required training and are in proper uniform
• Arranging and reviewing site specific training with contract security guards
• Performing random checks of guards to ensure their knowledge and performance meet City expectations
• Ensuring sufficient training hours are being allocated to various roles within City of Brampton
• Ensuring all Training Packages, Manuals and Procedures are updated accordingly
• Completing daily briefs to Security Services Management and other personnel
• Completing patrols with the use of an electronic guard tour software
• Performing other related duties assigned by the City

Qualifications:

• Minimum of Four (4) years of security experience is required
• Minimum of One (1) year of supervisory experience
• A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• A WSIB Approved First Aid / CPR Level C
• A Valid Ontario G Driver's License
• A 3 Year Clean Driver's Abstract
• Proficient in English (both oral and written)
• Vulnerable Sector Check
• COVID Double Vaccination
• Customer Service Experience

High School Diploma/GED

Certification Requirements (Any)

Valid G Licence
Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
Valid Ontario Security License
