The 2IC performs regular patrol duties both internal and external; views video for nefarious activity or dangerous situations involving equipment, weather, people or medical emergencies; conducts Safe Walks for tenants/customers if required or requested, and performs walk throughs when tenant has suspicious clientele in their retail area.This is the same work as other guards perform, but the 2IC will act as the Lead on serious matters or when guidance is required and the Supervisor is not on shift or available.
The successful candidate will possess law enforcement and/ or security experience. The successful candidate will possess (or is eligible to obtain) a valid Manitoba Security License and will be required to maintain the certification. Standard First Aid and CPR "C" are required. The 2IC will have exceptional communication skills and superior reporting abilities. The 2IC will be required to attend and oversee large scale incidents that may require extensive emergency response experience, along with incident command and emergency management skills. Some incidents may involve criminal activity where an experienced law enforcement/investigative background may be beneficial to carry out the investigation. The 2IC will work very well under pressure, knowing when to bring issues to management. Microsoft experience considered necessary for this position. Multiple interviews may be required for successful completion of the hiring process.
