The Creative Director will be the driving creative force, serving as the creative architect behind all written, visual, and video expressions of the Paycom brand. This leader will be responsible for aligning every piece of creative – story, design, video and integrated national campaign – with strategic business initiatives that drive lead generation and client retention. The Creative Director of Brand and Creative will report directly to the EVP of Marketing.  This role will shape Paycom's creative vision, ensuring every story, design, and video is powerfully conceived, expertly crafted, and strategically aligned to set us apart in the marketplace.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creative Writing and Messaging Strategy: Serve as chief storyteller, overseeing and elevating all copywriting and narrative development across multiple platforms —ensuring Paycom's voice is distinctive, persuasive, and consistent in every piece of content, from enterprise-level brand and multi-channel demand gen campaigns to global product launches and the website. Must also align brand sentiment with product value propositions across all national touchpoints. 

  • Design Direction and Visual Ecosystems: Guide the creative team to produce visually striking concepts and brand assets. Evolve the standard for our brand's visual identity system, ensuring excellence in everything from digital and print design to event materials and sales collateral.

  • Video Creative Leadership: Lead the vision and execution for video storytelling, national broadcast television, large-scale brand films and digital video content, including streaming services. Direct world-class video production through groundbreaking concepts, innovative scriptwriting, on-set direction, and post-production. Video also includes not only high-impact commercials, but also product demonstrations, social shorts, client testimonials and employer branding content. Must collaborate to bring Paycom's story to life through dynamic and moving imagery. 

  • Celebrity Influencers: Vet celebrity influencers and collaborate closely with their agents and production teams to ensure a seamless, strategic experience for both the brand and talent, aligning creative vision and execution with Paycom's high standards for storytelling and integrated campaigns.

  • Unified Brand Expression: Guarantee that Paycom's creative writing, design, and video work together in concert, unifying our brand voice and visual language across all channels, including: 

    • Digital Marketing: Email, landing pages, website

    • Publications: E-newsletters, annual report, magazines

    • Sales Collateral: Product slicks, postcards, stationery, imprinted items, folders and kits

    • Content: Blogs, white papers, webinars, podcasts, infographics

    • National Events and Presentations

    • Videos and Social Media

    • Advertising: TV, print, radio, OOH, digital, social, and more

  • Mentorship and Team Empowerment: Inspire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of writers, designers, and video professionals. Foster a culture of collaboration and creative ambition, encouraging bold ideas and flawless execution. Actively identify and bridge skill gaps within the team. 

  • Maintain Deadlines, KPIs and Budget: Development, management and oversight of deadlines, critical KPI's and budget. 

  • AI Evolution: Explore and implement emerging technologies, such as AI creative tech stacks, and evolving creative processes to strengthen storytelling at scale.

  • Innovative Creative Processes: Design and refine workflows that enable the creative team to deliver outstanding writing, design, and video—on time, on budget, and with measurable impact.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with marketing, communications, sales, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams. Translate complex business data and user insights into breakthrough creative strategies that drive measurable market share.

  • Brand Standards & Governance: Establish, uphold, and evolve robust creative standards for writing, design, and video, ensuring all assets reflect Paycom's commitment to industry-leading brand expression. Oversee vendor compliance and department workflow.

  • Market Awareness: Stay on the leading edge of creative trends in writing, design, and video—incorporating the latest techniques, technologies, and ideas to further differentiate the Paycom brand.



Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in marketing, communications, design, or a related field

Experience:

  • 12+ years in creative roles, with experience leading national brand accounts within a high-growth environment, supervising multidisciplinary teams in writing, design, and video

  • Direct experience leading multi-million dollar national TV and 360-degree integrated campaigns, 

  • Extensive experience in leading and directing compelling creative writing, innovative design, and video production for digital and traditional platforms

  • Portfolio demonstrating excellence in cross-channel storytelling, high-production value video, visual branding, video content and needle-moving results that met business objectives.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Expertise in turning insights and customer behaviors into breakthrough creative ideas

  • Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator; working knowledge of Premiere, After Effects, and Sketch.

  • Proficiency in project management tools, specifically Wrike. 

  • Strong understanding of B2B marketing, especially in SaaS and HR technology

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present vision and ROI to company leadership,

  • Entrepreneurial spirit, emotional intelligence, and the ability to inspire creative teams
