Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Manager of Accounting to lead our accounting team in managing all aspects of financial accounting, and compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing SEC audits, tax planning and compliance, and general accounting operations. Reporting to the Director of Accounting and Finance, this is a key leadership role that requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and manage the accounting and financial reporting functions, including financial statement preparation, and financial analysis
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal controls
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance
  • Manage and supervise a team of accounting professionals
  • Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, including preparation of financial statements and footnotes, and interaction with external auditors
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, bankers, and other financial stakeholders
  • Provide financial guidance and support to senior management
  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Develop and improve financial processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements, and ensure the company's compliance with all relevant requirements
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as required


Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Proven experience in managing SEC audits and tax planning and compliance
  • Strong technical expertise in GAAP, SEC regulations, and tax laws
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

  • CPA certification preferred

Experience:

  • Experience in managing and supervising a team of accounting professionals
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and risk management principles
  • Experience in a public company or similar industry
  • Master's degree in Accounting or related field, or MBA

Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in GAAP, SEC regulations, and tax laws
  • Proficiency with financial accounting and reporting software, such as Excel and accounting software
  • Knowledge of internal controls and risk management principles
  • Ability to manage and supervise a team of accounting professionals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and develop team members
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide insights and recommendations
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Understanding of business operations and financial management principles
  • Ability to provide financial guidance and support to senior management
