Description

We are looking for a Counsel to join our Rexel team in Dallas Hybrid or Naperville, IL Hybrid!

Summary:
The Staff Counsel is responsible for being a risk management and business advisor to Region, Specialty Business, and Functional leadership, including being a legal and risk management lead with transaction and commercial support for sales, procurement, operations, mergers and acquisitions, compliance and ethics investigations, litigation and dispute proceedings, labor and employment matters, and other legal matters. Works closely with and under the supervision of the General Counsel and Senior Counsel within the Legal department.

What You'll Do:

 

  • Counselor and risk management business advisor to Region, Specialty Business and Functional leadership as part of Rexel USA Legal team
  • Transaction and commercial support for field sales, procurement and operations, and the development of template commercial documents
  • Compliance counseling as well as compliance and ethics investigations
  • Assist with management and oversight of litigation and dispute proceedings
  • Handle and/or assist with miscellaneous and various legal matters for the company, including privacy, labor & employment, corporate governance, and other matters
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What You'll Need

  • 5+ years of law firm, corporate, or non-profit in-house experience
  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree - Required
  • Graduate Degree - Required
  •  
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) Degree

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills
  • Commercial knowledge and understanding
  • Substantive knowledge in one or more Legal subjects (e.g. transaction, labor, and employment)
  • Excellent digital IT skills
  • Team player, strong collaboration skills
