Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility.  We currently have an opportunity for a Material Handling Operator at our Portage la Prairie, MB facility. Reporting to the Elevator Manager, this position is responsible for assisting with shipping and receiving of deliveries in accordance with standard documented procedures and checking for damaged products.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with binning, cleaning, drying, blending, and storing of product within the facility

  • Prepare railway cars and/or trucks, including weighing and identifying product for shipment

  • Operating systems to transfer and load product into railcars and/or trucks, including cleaning and sealing trucks and/or rail cars

  • Assist with sampling and testing

  • Perform routine maintenance on material handling systems and completing all related documents as required

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent

  • Must be self-directed, able to work independently and have excellent interpersonal skills

  • Must be able to work a rotating shift, including overtime on weekends

  • Experience operating a forklift is considered an asset
